Do casinos hire counters for surveillance?

Would a casino hire an acknowledged card counter for an entry level job in surveillance? I once saw an ad for a surveillance job where
they required the applicants to know 3 card-counting systems. But
the knowledge could have been gained on-the-job, not at the tables.

I just can't believe a casino would hire someone who was trying to beat them yesterday.
