i have always been interested in counting but have only recently pursued that interest. i have read blackjack attack, blackjack secrets, and professional blackjack. i can count a deck down in under 20, 2 in 45, 4 in under 2 minutes. i can also "wong" glance quite well. i am incredibly mathematical and understand all the information easily, know all the basic strat and illustrios 18, fab 4, and more index numbers. however, theory and practicality are much different. is it possible to become a professional card counter with the griffin book, face-recognition, poorer rules, necessary camoflague, and worse penetration that plagues the majority of casinos? and if possible, what are some practical win rates, r they sufficient?. i am looking for expert opinions here with much experience for any casino play in the US (primarily AC or nevada). i myself do not plan to play professionally but i am going to a crimson college very near MIT,and i must say i am tempted to take a stab. my bankroll is only a couple grand but im sure i can make it sufficient.
