I've found that I have time to "study" the played cards during single deck games. Thorp said that if all 5's have been played then the player has a 3.6 advantage against the remaining cards(assuming, no doubt, that the entire deck is played). Consequently I've been paying attention to this (BTW it's not very often that all 5's play out early.) Is this a good trick to boost our EV?
Secondly, I've paid attention to the ace count since a surplus of aces forthcoming means it's time to bet big. My main question is, Is this still a good idea even though I use HiLo which is ace reckoned? (I don't use HiOpt II because it's just too difficult for me....unfortunately.)
So, what say you...Are these pretty good tricks (for lack of a better word). Can you share a few of your favorite ones...?
