Worth the Trip?

Greetings! After dropping off the map for some time now, I'm interested in getting back into the advantage play game again (BJ), but wonder if there's anything left to play for. Over the past six years, or so, with the exposure of the advantage play culture, through exposure of the "MIT Teams", through documentaries, books, and the Hollywood backed "21", and the counter measures taken by the casinos to level the playing field against counters (6/5 payout on BJ, limited pitch games, poor penetration, etc), I have to wonder, at this point, if there are any playable games (notice, I did not use "winnable") left in LV? My last trip to Vegas was just before The Western was attempting gentrification...Did that actually occur (I hope not)?

The number shrinks nearly every day, but there are still plenty of playable games in Las Vegas, mostly shoe games. Consider Rneo as an alternate venue, or combine both into one trip if you are coming from far away.

The Western is still a dump, and the neighborhood around it is as seedy as ever. There is no longer playable blackjack at the Western, even for tiny stakes. Most of downtown is unplayable now.

Thanks for the insight Bear - I appreciate it. I guess shoe games on the strip is where I'll head. Too bad about The Western, not too mention, I guess, all of downtown. Damn, no pitch games worth playing any more? What happened with The Western - did they severely cut down on hands between shuffles? I remember the last time there, they brought in a new pit boss (young guy, shaved head) who was bringing serious heat down.
