I've read Wong's PBJ about 50 times and I still can't exactly figure out the difference between subject words. Here are passages from the book that demonstrate my quandry.
(1) Page 17 under the heading of EFFECT OF RULES ON STRATEGY: "If a count per deck of -1 is required to stand, then stand if your count per deck, truncated, is -1 or higher. (Zero is higher than -1....)"
(2) Page 41 Table 6 under the heading of DOUBLE DOWN, the explanatory footnote: "number Double down if the count per deck equals or exceeds the number; do not double down if the count per deck is less than the number."
(3) Page 47 Table 9 under the heading of STRATEGY TABLES, the explanatory footnote: "number Stand (or double or split) at a count per deck equal to or greater than the number; hit (or do not split) at a count per deck less than the number."
So, say I am playing HI-LO multi-deck S17, and I have A2 vs. the dealer's 6. The strategy table number is -1. The TC is 0. Is the TC of 0 "higher that -1", or is it "greater than -1", or is it "less than -1"? (NOTE: I already know how to play this particular hand; I'm just using it as an example to try to get a handle on the real meanings of those 3 words that are used many places throughout the book.)
