I do it all the time and mostly get it .
Does wonders for the win rate and the average dealer doesn't cotton on if you've got an act to ask for it in an unassuming way.

there are ways of consistentally getting better cuts. i'm not giving away my trick, but use superstition as cover. it's important to have other superstitions as decoys so that the dealer sees that you are just a walking fool who believes in all kinds of lucky rituals and habits. cutting the card a certain way will not stand out among your superstitions. reinforce the superstitions that the dealer gives in to and credit blackjacks and dealer busts to the dealer for indulging your superstitions. they remember your superstitions and will give you good penetration regardless of who cuts the cards at the table.
i also include as my superstition, tipping the dealer on blackjacks. perhaps the best results i get from a dealer is when i encourage other players to tip the dealer. this costs me absolutely nothing and the dealers compensate me with the deep cuts. of course, the tips on blackjack are relatively small and i think they are worth the deep cuts. the best feeling in the world is watching other players tip the dealer because of my superstition, and then have the dealer smile my way.
