Begin to begin
Get a three-ring binder and a good hole punch and start saving the info you'll soon be collecting.
Go back to the home page at "BJ21.com." On the left task bar is a link to the BJ School. Go through it step by step by step.
There is a glossary over there also. Print it out. Keep it handy. You'll need a de-coder in the beginning to understand some of the posts.
Learn a basic strategy for the game you will most likely play. A basic strategy engine can be found at "blackjackinfo.com." Print one for single deck, double deck, and six deck and study them. You'll soon see that they are different, game to game, but not by much.
Decide on a level one count system and buy a book.
I would suggest either HiLo "Professional Blackjack by Wong" or KO "Knockout Blackjack by Vancura/Fuchs."
If you have the jack, buy a good practice program. I would suggest CVBJ at "Qfit.com." It's about $90. Others less expensive may do the job; I can tell you this one is good.
Ask around (here) about a book before you buy one. Most that post here are in agreement to which are good and which are not. General rule, if you can pick it up off the shelf at Barnes and Noble, it probably is not that great; generally. Go to the catalog here and you should be safe.
Grow a thick skin and post stupid questions here. You'll get answers.
Practice.
Save a BR.
Buy some more books and read them. You'll figure out which ones by the time you get here.
Practice.
Hope that all the BJ tables don't turn to 6:5 in the next 24 months.
Good luck.
