Let me say first of all that I'm a complete newbie, so I apologise in advance if this is a silly question.
I read that playing at $10 tables I would be winning only $9 per hour. Obviously, that rate isn't anything to get excited about, but it didn't seem so bad at first, because I thought I'd gradually move up as my skills improve. Then I read that to have a 2.5% risk of ruin I would need a BR of $12,000 (and 2.5% isn't all that comfortable either!) Is this correct? If so, presumably I would need to play at $100 tables with a BR of $120,000 to win $90 per hour. The problem is: how am I supposed to build up a large enough BR to make playing worthwhile? Not at $9 per hour, I'm sure! Do the people who actually make money from BJ start out being seriously rich or am I missing something crucial?
