When to raise the bet when counting cards

When do I raise my bet on a 6 deck game what should the running count / true count be? And at what count should I just walk away from the table or not play ?

...many discussions on this subject. There's a lot more involved than first meets the eye.

a +1 in ture count is worth about +0.5% advantage to the player. So if you are playing 6 d with bad rules (H17, DAS, RSA) (house advantage of 0.56%), you need to be at +2 tc to have an advantage and your advantage is very slight. At a tc of 10, your advantage is about 4.5%. You need to get the money out when you have the advantage in relative proportion to your advantage. But you need to expect to lose at least 20 max bets over the short term. So the max amount you should be will be limited by your bankroll.
Put these two guidelines together- bet more proportional to your advantage and restrict your max bet to a few % of your total bankroll and you should be able to come up with your own bet ramp.
a bet ramp you have dervied yourself will serve you better in the long run.

That's a good question! If your max bet comes at a TC of 3 or 4, what % of these max bets can you expect to win! lose or tie? I've been losing more than what I should.

at a tc of zero, I think a player wins around 43% of the hands. You get a 0.99+ expectation because the player gets 1.5 x bet on a bj and 2.0 x on winning double downs. So even tough you win significantly less than 50 % of hands, the expectation is close to break even.

Even at a tc of +5, you will probably only win about 50% of hands. Your expection is positive because of the bj payout and doubles. Don't expect to win much more than 50% of hands even even at big + counts.

So the range I play in; TC 4 to 6, the dealer and I have an equal chance of winning/losing.

But if you get doubles and splits, that means you are getting poor cards. So the only advantage is blackjack.

two cards totaling 11 o 10 are not bad cards. And although you are less likely to get a two card 11 or 10 on a + count, if you do, your probability of pulling a 10 or ace is better than a neutral count. So the benefit from doubling down is always big and even bigger on plus counts.

Ok, thanks, I get your point. The total of the two cards may be good for a double down, but the value of the two individual cards is bad. But it does contribute to a potential increase in the running count.
