What's the best game to play...

if I want to lay down a single black chip with the hopes of winning a quick hunny before bolting out the door? The choices are any game found in a Las Vegas casino, be it bj (w/o backcounting), roulette, craps, keno, poker, wheel of fortune, sports bet, baccarat, pai gow, etc. Simply put, which game offers the best odds on a single play? Thanks in advance for any responses. Btw: If I'm feeling "lucky," I'll usually lay down a c-note on the bj or the roulette table (always bet on black!).

Go to Sam's Town and bet $5 on the pass or come and then take $95 odds. Cost in expectation is about 5 cents.

Generally, if the Blackjack rules are good enough, Basic Startegy should make it the best bet. Otherwise, craps on the Pass Line (1.41% edge) is probably the best thing to do. If you're willing to split up the $100, you can take odds at craps and make it a better bet (you can lower it to .1% if you take high enough odds). But look around for special promotions, eg. 3 to 2 on even-money roulette bets, no commission on Baccarat Bank bet, etc.

If you aren't going to back count for BJ, then the next best thing to do with a $100 one-shot bet is head for the Sports Book. With some good handicapping, and the proper line, you could be making a highly advantagous bet.

On craps tables where the house only takes the vig from wins (not up front requiring you to bet $102.50), you could bet the NO 4 or NO 10 for a 2:1 chance of winning half less the 5% vig.

Hit: 6 ways x $50 - $2.50 vig (might only be $2.00 in some places)
Miss: 3 ways x $100

6 x 47.50 = $285
3 x 100 = -$300
Net: -$15 / $900 = -1.66667%

6 * 48.00 = $288
3 x 100 = -$300
Net = -$12 / $900 = -1.33333%

The BS expectation on a BJ game assumes you will split or double down appropriately. EZ presumably won't put additional money on the table if he takes a plunger, so the expected result drops considerably.

I think you and Pro21 have it correct - if EZ's willing to split the money into a pass line and odds bet, he can get a pretty fair bet. If not, then maybe red or black on a European style (no 00) roulette table (not sure which would be better since I don't play craps so I don't know what the expectation on the pass line is.)
