Blackjack Ballroom's BS
Blackjack Ballroom has a misleading offer, it seems to me.
They have an offer where you can wager $500 of their money for one hour. They make it sound like whatever you win, you keep, but that is very misleading, per my understanding.
From my reading of their Terms and Conditions, it looks like:
1) You have to win at least $20 to keep anything. Further, you cannot keep anything over $100. This is a far cry from keeping anything you win.
2) It gets worse. If you manage to win from $20 to $100, then you have to wager it 30 times over before being eligible to withdraw it. For example, if you made $100 in the first phase, then you have to give them $3000 in action to get the money.
3) It gets even worse. Blackjack Ballroom will only give you full credit for your action for the games with atrocious odds. The better the odds the games has that you are playing, the less credit they will give you for your action. Get this: For good old blackjack, they will give you only TWO PERCENT credit for your action. So, if you are playing standard BJ, in order to rack up $3000 worth of action credits on your $100 bonus, you have to actually give them 50 TIMES $3000 of action, or $150,000 of action!
At least that is my take on it. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Smells like BM to me.
I don't know what the edge Blackjack Ballroom has on their BJ, (I didn't bother to look) but let's be generous and say they have a 0.5% advantage (bet they have a bigger edge than that). $150,000 of action with a 0.5% casino edge means $750 of expected value for Blackjack Ballroom. Given that they do not allow you to keep more than $100 of winnings for their $500 so-called free play, their projected take is $650 for the above example.
Any corrections to the above analysis are appreciated.
Below is a link to Blackjack Ballroom's splash page for their misleading free play offer. (Notice how they say "Make as much money as you can" which they know full well will be misinterpreted to mean "sky's the limit." Actually, all you can make is $100, which then has to be put through the meat grinder of gargantuan action with their negative EV games.) What they are really saying instead of "Make as much money as you can" is "Give us $650 of expected value while you delude yourself that you have an advantage."
Sheesh!
