I have been pounding a .61 game for years and almost breaking even, even with table hopping a -3 or worse. This six deck hit soft seventeen double after split game with a 75% dealt shoe is rated very marginal on the Snyder index, and I suspect I am just killing time(which can be fun, but not profitable). Is anyone else trying to seriously attack a game in excess of .5 advantage
However, there are other things to consider. For instance, the following games have the same win rate:
- A heads up game with a SCORE of 40 playing 200 hands per hour.
- A 3 player game with a SCORE of 80 playing 100 hands per hour.
Another consideration is cover and travel time. If using a smaller spread allows you to play longer, it may be more beneficial than using a large spread where you have to move around more, even though the latter might have a higher SCORE.
It was never clear to me from Snyders book what he meant by a waste of time. Does that mean you are losing money, or just winning at a slow pace with a lot of downside time. I am willing to play for 10 dollars an hour and the simulations show that I can achieve this with my betting structure and table hopping(although I never have :0)
Playing for $10 an hour would be classified by most as a "waste of time"

Winning trivial amounts at a slow pace is a waste of time. You can make ten dollars an hour waiting tables, begging on the street, or many other things that are probably less of a hassle than dealing with casinos. No disrespect intended, but why in the world would you be willing to sit in a smoky, nasty casino for such a meager amount?
My reasoning is that I am in Canada, and the decent wage I make during the day means that additional earnings are taxed at right around 50%. Therefore my untaxed 10 dollar casino winnings are the equivalent of about 20 dollars an hour at a job. To me this is acceptable as additional income. I probably could wait on tables and make close to that if I fudged tips like most service people do, but I don't want to do that. Plus a like the freedom of playing when I want.
Don't worry about offending me, I have skin like an elephant
