Were I wrong?

I found many people didn't like my idea of charging commssions on good game referrals. I like to explain more about my thoughts and welcome reasonable opinions.
1. Playing BJ as an Investment
I play BJ as an investment. I treat BJ information as valuable information an like to capitalize on them. I trade good game information before while finding many people don't have similar information for trade so I ask for referral fee like an investment consulting firm does. I find many people consider BJ AP as gambling or hobby and treat it as one thinking I should give the information for free or for friendship. I think one can not be a good AP if he does not respect it.
2. Integrity of APs
I give my good game information first. I am paid only after the person receiving the information make money. The system relies on the integrity of involved parties just like team play. I believe most APs are honest an dmy experience showed so. Admittedly there may be APs not reporting their true win because they feel my information don't derserve my fee, I am alright with that.
My "clients" made over $400,000 sinced I started the practice mid last year and I got no complaints so far.
3. My integrity
I have been tipped some good games since I started the business. I appreciate the referrals for they trust my integrity and I will try my nest to meet my obligations.
I hope fellow APs of this board tell me their opinions honestly without useless sacasm comments. I will stop my practice if there are justifiable reasons.

Serious players with the necessary bankrolls understand; there is no need to explain yourself.

IMO, you should avoid posting on the free pages and work through the semi-private boards and through the private networks.

You would save yourself a lot of aggravation.

Charging for info makes sense and has precedent throughout the business world. But it is difficult to price and get paid for. What comes to my mind quickly is equity research. I don't pay for it, but I have to do business with the firm, resulting in indirect compensation. Perhaps a better example would be charging for inside info on takeovers or the like. To push the analogy, I would liken CBJN to the buying equity research and your offer to be one of purchasing inside tips. The problem is one just doesn't expect to see the latter overture come accross on a public board.

Personally, I think your approach for charging is fair. With respect to the actual trade, you are the one taking the risk as you have no gty of being paid. Were I more flexible to travel and invest time, you would have heard from me.

One of the "issues" mentioned by others earlier in previous threads seemed to focus on the fact that you enjoyed one side of the bell curve, but did not bear any risk for negative flux (offsetting that - you have no pmnt until someone is good enough to pay you). I think that is ok. But, were I actively "buying", I would suggest the compensation be based on the lesser of some mutually agreed theoretical ev for the game or the actual wins. That way, any extraordinay luck would be available to the buyer to offset future negative flux.

I don't think this has been brought up before. You have apparently worked this scheme with success with known contacts. It now appears that you are willing to broaden the circle with whom you will work. How do you ensure that good games are not killed by large numbers of players and/or bad judgement? Also, the level of honest reporting will probably drop as you expand out the circle.

In sum, I think you have a good idea, and I wish you luck. I'm just not sure it is broadly marketable.
