I just came back from Germany, where I found an interesting Video BJ machine, which I think has a player edge.
The rules are:
multiple decks (two at least, but I'd guess six),
ENHC, S17, D9-11, DAS, no resplit, no surrender, no insurance
I know that these rules suck, but the following rules might make up for the bad game:
any unbusted five card hand counts as 21
drawing and doubling is allowed on split aces (but who'd double his A-8 in a multiple deck game anyway?)
A-T as the result of splitting aces OR tens counts as BJ!!!
7-7-7 (suit doesn't matter) receives Jackpot
I think that the special BJs might change the house edge to the players favour???
Player can play 1 to 3 spots. Min 0,025, Max 25
7,5% of the amount wagered each round (including splits or doubles) goes into the Jackpot. only problem is that Jackpot only goes up to 25. Once it is hit, Jackpot starts at 10% of its prior value.
I played two sessions, 1 hour each. The first session I played 2 hands, 0,25 each and walked away once I hit the Jackpot (won 15 altogether). Due to time pressure and bad luck (didn't hit the Jackpot) I had to leave down 20 at the second session.
I made the following changes to BS in order to win the most: always hit 7-7, split T-T against 5 or 6. Am I correct with these changes or did I go to far with the splitting?
I know that a player has a huge edge, if he finds the machine with full Jackpot (as I had to leave it), since he only has to play for 0,025 per hand until he gets the lucky sevens, but what is the edge off the top, if any?
