My wife and I just got back from a great trip to New Orleans. Beyond the obvious 'Bourbon Street' experience, our objective was to focus on Harrah's $25 double deck game.
Unfortunately we could not locate it and when we inquired through a pit boss, we were told they got rid of it 2 months ago. All games on the main floor were either $10 or $15 minimums ($500 max), 8 deck shoes, with decent rules (DA2, DS, RS, S17) and penetration (~85%).
We still had fun, as we went home up ~$400 on BJ and ~$500 on slots/Video Poker. Because they didn't have the double deck game, we didn't invest too much time or money.
Funny thing is when we got into town, we went to the Harrah's poker room bar for a couple drinks (drinks at the bar were free). I was fooling around playing a $1 video poker machine, 1 credit at a time. Within 30 minutes I hit a Royal Straight Flush. Unfortunately I only had 1 credit in, so rather than getting the $5,211.34 progressive, I got $250.
We joked about it, moved on, and had a great time on Bourbon Street.
