I will be travelling on a Blackjack trip to Reno & Wendover in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions of casino's for good one deck action? Any good for getting a hotel room comped?
We recently discussed Wendover conditions at trackjack.com. All casinos but the Red Garter have decent single deck games, and they're all fairly equivalent, although it is reported that the Rainbow has a couple of bonuses that would improve expectation slightly.
The Red Garter has exclusively double deck. You didn't mention bankroll; the Red Garter does have $2 tables, while all the others start at $3. All have $5 and $25 tables (and up), as well.

By the way, as far as comps are concerned....
The Red Garter will give you pa layer's card if you let them take your picture, but they don't track your play in the normal way. You get points for certain bonus plays (I don't remember the specifics now).
The Wendover Nugget has its own card; the other three, which share ownership, all share a single player's card.

Yes, most of the stores have bad rules. But most of them have decent pen, which overcomes the bad D10 rules. Most have easy food comps, and easy room comps for future trips.
Siena has good rules and pen, but oppressive heat. Play it in short sessions and blast away. You will last about thirty minutes, but backoffs are polite.
Cal Neva and Fitzgeralds have decent pen from most dealers, but sweat all action except red chips. You can get money on the table in short sessions, though. Polite backoffs. Fire away.
I agree with Stealth Bomber about Golden Phoenix, Sands Regency,
Silver Legacy, Circus Circus and Harrah's. They are mostly worthless, though you can find a few decent dealers at each store. Eldorado uses the MindPlay cheating device. Play it only on the last day of your trip, because it is one of few places in Reno that are routinely nasty and may flyer you.
There's a truck stop east of sparks just off I-80. They usually have one or two BJ tables going. Good rules, good pen. Might consider giving them some quick medium size action. Don't forget to wear an old coat, have a 2 day old beard and have some grease under your fingernails too. ;-)
spreading allowed? Will they take spreads of 1-4, 1-5, 1-6 or moree for action on reds, greens, or blacks?
Beautiful rooms, great restaurants and incredible customer service. It's worth the trip to Reno just to be able to spend a few days at the Pheonix, even if you're not playing.

Can't be done. The table max is only $100. You can go to three hands, though, if you can find enough empty spots and don't get pref shuffled. Unlikely.
