I've seen several posts refering to "typical" Vegas strip rules as "S17". As I understand it, this means the dealer has to stand on all soft 17's. The last time I was there, (last July), almost all the casinos on the strip required the dealer to hit soft 17's. Has this changed? And what about the occasional one or two-deck game with a 6:5 BJ payout? Have they fixed that yet?
There are several large casinos where the dealer stands on soft 17. Mandalay Bay is one that comes to mind.
There are also several casinos where dealer hits soft 17 at higher minimum bet tables, but stands on lower minimum bet tables. Caesar's is an example of that. But if you look you can find mulitple deck games where dealer stands on soft 17. It is harder to find a 1 or 2 deck game with that rule.

a casino hitting soft 17 was a very rare thing. Typical strip rules used to be S17, DAS, LS, RSA and such rules on a 6 deck game yeilded the house a 0.26% advantage. Apparantly that wasn't enough to keep the "bean counters" happy.
