�Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
The CC�s and counters, played cat and mouse.
But shoes were so poorly cut with such care,
In hopes that these players would not show up there.
Most holiday observers lay snug in their beds,
But wide-awake Asians yelled Monkey at heads
As I listened there playing, backcounting Don�s way,
I hoped that tables, would welcome my stay.
I spotted a good count from a green baize away;
I entered the action with the dealer�s "Checks play".
When out from the eye, there arose such a clatter,
The Pit boss arrived to settle the matter.
I knew I was busted, though the hand they did take
As the dealer had dealt and proceeded to break.
But the critter was watching the guy at 3rd base,
Who stacked out the max with a ten and an ace.
She proceeded to pay us; I still was in doubt
The PB must know, as she stated black out.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a generous comp for this winner at rear?
But the next round proved just, as the count did so drop
I knew in the moment, the guy was a plop
For he still rode his max bet, and tens did he split
Against the upcard of seven, as he yelled out a "shit!"
The dealer had pulled off the big 21
She took all our wagers, and said, "sorry hon".
He ranted and raved, then proceeded to go
As he blamed my appearance for messing up the flow.
I got up and pondered, as the cut card was reached,
Wondering just how much the bastard was leeched.
Thought of late Lawrence and my mentors at rifflin�
The skills passed from Edward, Stanford and Griffin...
Two deck a cut off, I�d thought it would show,
But one deck, no further the cut card did go!
The shoe had commenced as I watched from afar,
As the ploppies did gather and started the spar
With a deck that was awful, soon tens seemed a must,
A fat ploppy pleading, "Do you always not bust?"
I entered the table; and so I did delve
At the loud spoken guru, who doubled his twelve
For a lucky nine, the shoe could not sour,
But table min will be raised, at the start of the hour.
Myself I did win, without high count bad haps,
I played till the hour, without the feared taps.
And cashed at redemption - a good session height,
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
