The Trump Casinos in A.C. offered nice comps - until recently that is.

in 2009 I played at one of their stores about once per month.

I continually received, (and exploited), a seemingly endless array of free gifts and match play coupons, etc.

During 2009 I had also accumulated approx. $1,000 in comp dollars.

NOW, not only do they no longer offer me anything, but each week they actually DEDUCT comp dollars.

Now, fully ]� of my comp dollars have evaporated !

I don't know where you play or what you may have done wrong. I have the Trump Marina Jan promo booklet open and there is $20 in match play almost every day, toaster giveaway, watch giveaway, $1,000 drawings a couple of days. But, these apply only at the Marina; the other Trump properties will give me nothing, presumably because I spend most of my playing time at the Marina. I have never noticed comp $ being deducted, but I have certainly noticed that, at least for table games, the comp $ do not come easily.

It turns out that Trump sent me a postcard (not a letter or an email) that if I had not ignored it I would have saved a lot of money. It did say that a certain amount of comp dollars were expiring. In my head I never thought that ANY casino would delete segments of comp points.
In the case of Trump, it was New Years that triggered this.

While I was always aware that the comp dollars had a certain time period attacted to them, I never experienced any "expiring" prior to my using them, Flash. I hope this is not a new way of handling this by Trump. It also brings up the question of how they deduct comp dollars when used. If you have a comp balance of $300 and spend $20 on a meal, is that $20 from the most recent or the least recent comps accumulated? If they decide to be an ass and deduct from most recent, everyone who has a high comp balance will lose their comps accumulated at the earlier times. A change like this could require you to keep accurate records on comps accumulated in an attempt to get the highest benefit from them.

I would suggest to use as much as the comps available. Have a nice dinner in the steakhouse. Enjoy life. Enjoy the fact that you're a winner ( looser in their records ). There is always the possibility that the comps could be canceled or they don't like you or you could die!

I had forgotten about the comp expiration at Trump. I have received one of those cards also. The older comps roll off first after 12 months, and at least they warn us. Like I said, though, it is my distinct impression that the Trump comp algorithm for table games is stingy - I estimate it at 10% of average theoretical loss. That makes it pretty easy to spend comps before they expire . . .
