I uses UBZ11 for 2D and interested in using true fudging to improve BC and sd. I am a green chipper and play less than 50hrs/year does it worth persuing this? If not what else can I do to improve the EV at the same time reduce fluctuation? How about ace side count? If I have my girl friend keep track of ace for me how would I adjust the ace into running count for betting/insurance? How much more gain for doing ace side count with ubz?
If you only play 50 hr/year or less at green chip levels,, the gain from side counts, true count fudging, etc., would only amount to a few dollars a year.
UBZII works quite well "out of the box," especially for double deck. You might want to learn the 50 exact indices that can be found in appendix b of George C.'s UBZ book, although again, the gain over the "one size fits all" indices will be minimal.
A better approach might be to concentrate on learning to use UBZII error-free on a near subconscious level, so you can devote more conscious effort to your "act."
Increasing your bet spread by even one unit will gain more EV than all the side counts, indices, etc. put together.

Thanks for your comments. I have been using UBZ for over 2yrs and also quite please with it. I also switched from KO because I found it too easy. Would you mind sharing what spread do you use for 2D? Previously, I played with a spread of 8 at green chip and realized the game wasn't fun because emotionally I couldn't handle the fluctuation. Recently, I start to play at spread of 6 and found it's a little bit better emotionally. I been thinking about reducing the spread to 5 to reduce the fluctuation and look for other ways to compensate the reduce EV.
I, too, normally spread 1-8 green on double deck games. The exception is a few games with excellent rules (S17, DOA, DAS) in which I do not wish to risk getting backed off, so I limit it to 1-6.
The swings can be scary. However, rather than reducing your spread, perhaps you should look for games with a lower minimum. I must admit that I really enjoy a $10 min game in which I can drop to $10 in negative counts and use $150 as a max bet. This way I am effectively employing a 1-15 spread, but with a max bet lower than my usual 1-8 green spread.
It is a rather obvious truism that you cannot win if you don't put the money on the table.
As I mentioned in my earlier post, bet spread is the most powerful tool a counter has. This is why outrageous spreads will usually result in a quick back-off, and why wonging is so effective (your minimum bet is in effect 0).
