I had a discipline failure- camped out at the same table for hours, over bet (with a weak spread), failed to take any(thing but bathroom) breaks, and failed to leave when conditions deteriorated (table crowding, reduced penetration). I didn't do everything wrong, but my bad discipline coupled with a bad session wiped out my gains for 2002. I don't think there was any way to turn the experience into a winning session, but if I had not overbet and had cut the session in half (still way too long), I would have lost only 1/5 as much!
My best sessions are the ones I plan in detail- scheduling playing time, breaks and meals. This was a short trip made on impulse because I had the time to kill. I know what I am supposed to do- but I blew it and became just the kind of customer every casino wants. Do I take a break and refocus or get back in the game while the pain is fresh?
Any suggestions on how to keep up the discipline?
