Ok Kevin lets go over some basic math all you have to do is win 5 units a day at 100 dollar units play 6 days per week 50 weeks out of the year and that is 150.000 per year now its not a million, but not to fucking bad either right? And you dont have to play 8 hours to get 5 units you can do that in 2 hours. Its not about wining big its about having a big unit size and if you dont have the cash for the proper bank roll than dont talk!
You are correct in stating it is possible to win $500 a day. A lot of people do that. To do it six days a week for 50 weeks a year is where your analogy gets tricky. To expect that type of longevity doing traditional counting is not realistic.
The post I made earlier that you are evidently refering to was my response to a critic of Wong who stated any compentent BJ pro should make a million a year. I agree with you that $150K a year is very good money. I just disagreed with the gentleman who thought seven figures should be a benchmark for skilled players. I believe Uston stated the most successful individual he knew won $185K in a year. And I seriously doubt few if any players (other than well bankrolled teams) have made seven figures in a year by counting.
There are certainly other ways to make money gambling and the two most successful I know both moved out of Blackjack and into sports betting. But my earlier thread was dealing with strictly card counting. Hope that answers your question.
you get burnt out from bj just like any other job.i think 4 or 5 days is the max that i can play.you would show your face to much at the same place if you played 6 days at the black level.there are only a few casinos with good enough rules that will allow black for that long a period of time w/o throwing you out.
Just about all casinos have an upper limit of lifetime cumulative winnings that they will stand. There is also a single session threshold for most of them. It seems that this limit is getting smaller and smaller in size.
Playing 4 or 5 days in a week in the same casinos ad infinitum is very difficult, if not impossible to achieve. To do it successfully, a counter needs to be willing to travel outside of Nevada and hit the circuit. He also needs to be willing to change identities periodically as he makes the circuit.
picking 5 good casinos that allow your action and playing at each one for about 1.5- 2 hours.so they would only see your face once a week.im playing 10 hours a week right now and thats about all i can play to keep from getting 86ed.if i get greedy i wont be able to make shit.i read ian's book over the weekend and am amazed that he has gotten away with what he says he bets a hand.
I agree that it is very difficult to take a lot of any one casino. They know how you have done overall and even if you have a great act, they won't sit still while you clean their clock over several trips. Like Bootlegger says, unless you travel a lot and change your name, it can't be done.
the last casino that i let rate me over the past year had me losing about 15K.i say they were off BY ALOT:)you have to hide chips no matter if your losing or winning.if the pit knows your in 1500 and you turn the 200 in front of you into 800 total-go ahead and hide 400.dont rest on your 700 loss.always hide and always buy in for more.ive had 1 or 2k hidden in all my pockets and still bought in for more as if i were on a horrible losing streak.thats where that 15k loss came from.they thought i was the biggest gambling addict to ever walk in the place.thats what buys you time.
All of this probably really belongs on the "Comps & Cover" page, but yeah, you can really let them think you are on "tilt" and out of control that way.

If you are good enough at RHing to do it, then you really need to always give them a name, because any other "gambling addict" would gladly give them his name and want his fair share of comps, and THAT is one of the big advantages of that type of play: Comps!
Besides that, not giving them a name will only possibly arouse suspicion.

since i cant give a real name- a nice room at mandalay or that calibur is out the question since you need your real id to show the host and check in.all i can get is food,but how much lobster can you really eat.dont get me wrong i loved pigging out at the rio with their comp system on the machines but there was no risk with machines.

-You need to assume another identity in the casinos.
Of course, I cannot tell you how here, or the methods would be instantly worthless, but it isn't that hard to do.
Then you can get room comps and other goodies.
