did you get in the UP? Talked to my realtor in Three Lakes WI today(still stuck with a house there) he said 6 1/2 on ground. Was up there on Columbus weekend and didn't even hit Watersmeet cause of the probable lack of open tables. Many times I had driven the 43 miles only to stand around and never play & then drive another 43 home. Guess I'll try it again in a couple weeks when I'm up there. I know a pit boss there who tells me that it is the tribal theory that slots pay the bills & BJ doesn't make enough & is too risky for them.Hence limited tables open & the phony "can't find any dealers" excuse.

Of course, the Dakotas are Midwest. Deadwood is a great place. I played blackjack there a few years ago when max bet was only $5.
middle of a snow storm. Everybody will stay at home and then you can find a seat. On second thought, if its real bad maybe the dealers will stay home too.
most (but not all) of the Indian casinos are scared sh*tl*ss of BJ as well. CSM's are still quite popular, and the games that are not CSM's are usually watched VERY closely, especially 2-deckers.
When I say watched closely, I mean this: About 3 months ago I was playing double deck in a certain SoCal joint, a weekday shift. There were 6 to 7 players total (over a 30 minute time span), and SEVEN pit bosses/suits inside the pit nervously watching and pacing around. Nobody got kicked out, but it was almost laughable seeing the near-fainting and panic attacks! Average bets by the players ranged from $50 to $500 as I recall. I guess Stanford would say: "Black chips draw heat".
It's gone nationwide, I guess.
