The El Cortez

Going to LV next month.What's the scoop on The El Cortez. I play the 6 deck shoes. How's pen, heat, etc? Any info most appreciated. Thanks.

El Cortez Approved

Just got back to Florida from my 4 days in LV . Even though I stayed at The Orleans ( which I played 2D quite a bit ) and Flamingo (where I played none,there go the free nights ),I spent at least a third of my time playing at The El Cortez . The only BJ they have is 1D (pays 3-2 ) and 2D dealt face up and both games are dealt from a shoe . As BJay says invest in a copy of CBJN for $12 or whatever ,I always get one every year before I go .

The El Cortez leaves nothing to chance. The majority of the dealers are young, Asian girls with small hands ;), right off the boat (or plane). They have automatic shufflers for all games. In with the old pack, up pops the new pack. Ah sooo! The cards are cut using a notch in the discard tray. Tough to make a mistake here.Then the cards are placed in a shoe and dealt face-up up for your playing enjoyment. If these ladies dealt a pitch game it would give a new meaning to "front loading".

These girls have enough trouble figuring a 3:2 blackjack payout on a rainbow bet. Also, totaling up a three or four card soft hand frequently creates problems, sometimes quite humorous.

Like I said, "Legendary".

I think I saw you today at the "casino". Can't believe that you let Ed & Pete in on the horrific rules that they could offer at the only game in town. Please don't spoil it for the rest of us who are APs. CSM is not my idea of a playable game, no matter what the speed is or the + off the top.

suprised it is even staying afloat ,with the the other one around ( but out of my league ) . Don't worry he knows all about the horrific rules available out there , but don't think they can afford to lose too many more customers . He is suprised the other place hasn't made their rules worse considering the ignorant masses playing there .

not to spoil this for the rest of us. There are more of us out here than you may think. Keep your eyes open & mouth closed. You didn't even see me there.
