How does one account for the burn card? Should i just guess a number expecting a deviation of plus or minus a card?

Played at an indian casino, woman at the table asked the dealer to show the burn card and he did after every shuffle. Or you can just ignore it and do as already suggested and pretend it is behind the cut card...
