So, at this point I am pretty sure I can count effectively (though at some point I will move to a more powerful system than hi-lo). I have been winning pretty steadily for a while, have all apllicable indices memorized, and can count down a deck in 20 seconds. And I am very aware of the dangers of overbetting, but could raise a pretty sizeable (~$20,000) bankroll to begin my pro career.
But I haven't yet bet enough to encounter any heat, and wonder how bad it will be when I do. The bottom-line question is this: can I bet enough, in one way or another, to make around $150,000 per year without getting thrown out of everywhere? I mean, if it means I have to bet more and drop my spread and build up a lot of cash to support the fluctuations, then so be it. I'll wait until I have the cash and do it then. If it means I have to play 45 minutes here and 45 there and hop from casino to casino, I'll do that too. But, bottom line, is it possible, or will bets that large bring down the heat no matter what I do? Because if I'm going to quit my job, than at some point in the next few years I need to pull down around $150,000 cash per year. But I HATE MY JOB, and I would love more than anything to quit and play blackjack all day long, no matter what the obstacles.
