I started reading "Blackjack for Blood" by Bryce Carlson.
The Basic Omega 11 Sys. seems like a damn good one, however.
Is there anyone here using it? If so, is it working? Is it worth the time and effort to master it? I have plenty of time now that i'm retired!! Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Well it depends on a lot of variables. If you have SD or DD games readily available then it is worth the effort. It sounds like you have the time available to master it. OTOH if you're going to be mostly playing shoe games (6 or 8 decks) then it is a waster of your time. Just use Hi Lo instead.
Reading "Blackjack for Blood" is always a fine idea.

It's been a while since I've looked in BJFB but I believe what you are referring to as "basic" Omega does not include an ace side count and that is not a very strong count. On the other hand, many sd and dd players here use the AOII with a side count of aces and most counters will agree that AOII is a very good, strong count.
That being said, the kiss principle applies to all bj counts. One error on a more complex count may wipe your increased edge over a simpler count, like hi-lo. So, until you are able to use a higher level count flawlessly, stick to something simpler.
