I played at a casino several years ago and was dealt seconds. I came across its sister casino recently. It used simlar scheme offering great BJ rules then cheated. I played it's CSM, won $4,800 in 8 hours. Finally I can appreciate the great CSM :)

I had assumed the CSM's typical to Strip properties, with standard rules.
Sure, if you add ESR and 2-1 BJ just about any game is beatable, especially spreading 7 hands and with a large bet spread. But let's be honest here -- standard 6/8 deck Shufflemasters played with standard strip rules are just not profitable. We steer clear of those games for a reason --

You happen to get very lucky if you indeed won that amount of money in 8 hours. You will lose it all back if you continue to play BJ at tables that have continious shuffling machines.
If they hold out a hand, as some casinos do, there is a way.
I posted my response at GC. I did say it was a great game. It was 1.2% positive-off-the-top and I played $20 7 boxes. the Ev was $100. I was lucky getting $800 an hour. The machine was quick Draw... It drew fast but fed back slowly so I dropped my bets when lots big cards came out.
As I stated above. The game was good so I won. I played CSM to avoid cheatings. If I could play that CSM again I was sure I would win. I did not have the chance as the casino took the machine away last night. I played the good rules shoe game, plyed 7 boxes $40 (shoe game table had higher maximum) and won $2,500 in 3 hours.: ) I like to change my name to Lucky... but the damned password process made it difficult.
It's beatable if you could wong in and out and play 2 hands only when the C is right. Sometimes while walking by, if I see a slug of bad cards on a CSM table, I will stop and count it. I will then proceed to play a couple of hands if the C matches 1.5 TC or better. I also think 1B is the best place to wong in at if you want to play another hand after the D puts a slug of bad cards back into the CSM. There also needs to be only 1 or 2 open spaces at the table, which would provide a place to play and for enough cards to be counted prior to wonging-in.
I wish I knew more about how many cards at the front of the CSM are not included into the shuffle. ???
I think CSM play can be used as cover play to a certain extent. What PC would ever think a counter would play a CSM?

Several, after reading your post. Our job is to have the dealers at the CSM tables stand there with no one playing at there tables.
my point is to just play a hand if you notice the C is at a number that gives you an advantage. Then if you lose it, whine about that fact that you didn't notice it was a "continues shuffler" and let everyone else at the table know you think it's desinged to set the "flow" very much in favor of the "casino". Then leave after having frightened all the ploppies about playing it.

and remember, if it's all CSMs you have every table in the place "coming off the top" within minutes of each other. Granted, pickings are not bountiful but they exist. 3rd base is best, in my opinion, because of the additional cards you see before making your playing decision. I ran a lot of sims on that and with a 6D game, S17, DAS, RSA and 5/6 dealt out I believe for the bet spread I was using, 16-1, quarter game, there was about a $2 difference between 1st and 3rd base, on the order of $88 win rate vs $86 win rate based solely on the diffence in seating. So, some difference in expectation does exist. If I find the time I'll run some sims based on the seating position for the CSM game. If it's the only game in your town and you don't want to travel then you adapt, right?
BTW..the original CSM advantage players calculated the delay in cards appearing after insertion by waiting until all 3 of one specific card were on the table in a 3 card CSM game. They then noted how long it would take for one of those cards to appear in subsequent rounds. If it's a 5 deck CSM you might have to wait a long time for all 5 cards to appear on one round on one of the tables, I would guess.
