Can anyone out there help me regarding conditions in Swiss casinos?
I have visited the casino in Montreux and that had a decent hand-shuffled game but I know nothing about any of the other ones. I am a little concerned that a lot of them will have automatic shuffle machines.
I went to the Lugano in August, and it was 6 deck CSM as was the Admiral just across the Italian border.
Many thanks to Titaniumman and Shadow for Swiss info. Which are the casinos just over the French border referred to? I have played at Evian but penetration there was poor (two packs cut off)when I visited.
Evian and Divonne have been goldmines for me in the past (good penetration and poor frequentation).They were slow in taking countermeasures but lately the situation has deteriorated.
Since the introduction of the Euro, minimum stake in Evian is 20 Euro and you have to play two hands when alone.
Divonne might still be playable for newcomers because they only take selective countermeasures.
By the way there are now three other casinos near Geneva: Annemasse,St Julien and Meyrin. Meyrin is like Montreux usually overcrowded (no entrance fee, only identity check) but the other two can be interesting for unknown counters.

I can confirm your remarks on the casinos at St Julien and Annemasse. Visited Divonne recently and the penetration was dreadful (close to two packs cut off with most dealers).
I remember you saying in one of your posts that there was a hand-shuffled game at Crans-Montana. Do you know whether that is still case. Also do you know anything about the casinos at Interlaken and Baden (near Basel)?
Unfortunately, they brought in CSM's in Montana but Shadow's rule that the frenchspeaking part has mostly handshuffled games while in the germanspeaking part the CSMs are omnipresent is still valid.
Near Basel,you might try the casino of Courrendlin(Jura) which has definitely a handshuffled game.
