that means you can surrender when a 10 is showing before the hole is checked. BUT can you also do late surrender after?
You're correct. E10 means you can early surrender against a 10, but not against an ace. If the dealer doesn't have a natural, you can surrender against any up card, including an ace. In other words, E10 is like regular early surrender, with the exception that you can't surrender against an ace-up natural.
When I played in the Dominican Republic, you could early surrender against a ten, but surrendering against an ace was not allowed at all.
