starting a new game

I remember reading somewhere that you should not play a fresh shoe.
I sometimes like to start a new game for many reasons,

1. head on play
2. I sit where I like
3. No other players. (Ok Ok so I guess those are all the same really I guess I just like to play alone.)

Anyways MY QUESTION IS

Does playing a 4 deck shoe after the wash and opening shuffle decrease your advantage in any way? (perhaps it adds to the house edge?)

Depends on how well it is shuffled...

also that while no players noticed, that they didn't stack the first part of the pack to be in favor of the house, i.e. 'cheat'.

A wash should make the pack completely random. Therefore, it's no different than if it had been played with for hours.

I don't believe it would take a whole lot of regular hand shuffling for it to effectively become completely random either.

Drop in edge..

Snyder did research on this and if I remember correctly there actually was a tiny drop in the advantage players edge on the order of maybe .1 or less. Certainly not enough to warrant not playing.
