Suppose there are two boxers entering into a match. One boxer has odds of "+125" and the other "-155". What exactly does this mean for betting purposes?
The reason I ask is because I always see this stuff and it would be nice to be able to make sense of it.

If you bet the dog and he wins you get 125 for each 100 you bet. You only lose 100 if he loses. If you bet the favorite and he loses you lose 155 for each hundred you bet. If the favorite wins, you get 100 for each 100 you bet. The difference between the 2 bets, assuming an equal amount bet on each side, is the books profit. If the betting is unequal, the lines will move until the betting on each side equals out or the book lays off the surplus on one side.
