Split Tens Re-Split?

Just curious what's the recommended approach when splitting tens under high plus count, Illustrious 18 recommended, and you get MORE tens on the splits??

Are you trying to get the maximum resplit to 4 hands and twenties on all of 'em? Or is it enough to get just two hands of pat 20? (God forbid of course ya get damm 5's or 6's on the splits, LOL...)

Personally, I usually forego this ten splitting (even though I know it's part of Ill-18) as it seems to draw heat, not only from the pit but from other players at the table. I like to try and get along with everyone, not to create any negative karma, heh. But I understand why some ppl still wanna do it in the right circumstances.

Just wondering how FAR those of you who do split yer tens usually try to PUSH it???

You will get most of the value for 10-10 splitting by waiting until a very high count to make the play...if the count is that high you can split and re-split many times without dropping the True Count below the 10-10 split index.

Personally I don't make the play very often but there are a few casinos that I would make the play if I ever got a TC high enough (+8 High-Low for 10-10 vs 6 is the index I use). I don't get many counts that high at the casinos that would tolerate the play due to poor cuts.

I just saw it done last week for the first time that I can remember. DD Monster Count last round and the 3rd baseman playing 2 hands against a 5. Ended up with 7 hands after splitting and resplitting and I think they were all pat. Dealer turned over an 8 and drew a face to bust out. It created the opportunity (excuse) for me to split my 10's a little later in a similar situation with same dealer and pit and got the surprise winners ;-)and got me "back in the game".

only when last round as keeping 10s playing more rounds is about the same as spliiting 10s with less heat. Bear in mind however since you have put more bets on the table you should resplit at higher count. For example, you split 10s at TC 4 against dealer 6, you need TC 5 for resplit and TC 6 for further resplits.
