someone settle this for me

i went to the players club at a casino and asked about getting a card w/o id.they said it was a nevada law that i had to show a id-or something to that effect.whats the friggin deal.she was mistaken that its a law-but i want to know why we even have to show id in the first place to get a card.i can see showing it to get the comp but i shouldnt HAVE to show it to get a card.dont i have rights to my own personal info.they want my address and DL number.its not their business.

Not many, I'll guess. Why should the players' club be any different?

It's all so true. I've never ever had a player's card, even though they keep hounding me. Everytime they ask me, "Sir, would you like a Player's Card?" I respond with something like, "Sure, but I don't carry any ID because to do so would be contrary to my religious beliefs, to say nothing of the fact that it exposes me to being a potential victim of identity theft, should I suffer the misfortune of losing or mislaying my identifying papers." They usually accept that explanation without rebuttal. But I still get my comp. Mark up another concession for the straight-jacket brigade!
Inside a casino, you definitely want to be profiled as some kind of raving lunatic. You can pull stunts the normal crowd wouldn't even dare.

In another thread Pat expected Cyclops to openly tell him how to go get a players card under a fake name. When Cyclops wouldn't, Pat said Cyclops was being to paranoid. And said something like how casino people would never come here on there time off or something like that.

but its getting bad now.even binions is asking for id to get a card.pretty soon the california club will be asking.i was just asking why they think they have the right to all my personal info.from what the slot floor told me-Treasure island never asked for id back in the day.
