some words about cheating

1. Jeiju in Korea n Moscow/Russia r 2 famous places of cheating:
short deck, dealing the 2nd card....
2. 1 pro. said it could cheat by changing a shoe of short deck
when u go toilet during shuffle,if u play alone.
but 1 time when i played in Moscow, i saw a pit boss touch the played cards in the discard stand without good reason, very unusual action---Shargrila casino, 2002.
i associated/immagined immediately that one can hold a few low cards on hand n then put them into the cards in a second.
so don't think it is honest even though the cards are shown
face up b4 start.
however, beware of Korean n Russian dealer outside Korea/Russia.

Many Casinos throughout Asia use a 2 dealer system. They will usually alternate the deal of the shoe. One dealer will deal while the other one will watch the game in progress. The "watching dealer" usually sits to the left and behind the shoe. The chair/seat is tall enough to see the entire table and same head height as the dealer. A cheating team of 2 dealers working together in the high limit room was discovered in Jakarta after a AP player I knew lost over 180K. The dealer would push a card or the next card up into the shoe while players were taking their time squezzing their cards and making decisions. The seated dealer would see the pushed up card and signal the value to the dealer. Then she could use that card anytime it was needed. You couldn't see it happening because the shoes have skirts in front hiding the first card but allowing the dealer to place her finger on the card inside. Situations like this and the Korean/Moscow ordeals do not happen very often but are scarry. People of all nationalities are capeable of cheating others...not just Korean or Russian.
