I have been on a 10 year hiatus. Used to be a green chipper 20 years ago under a different handle.

Are there any DD games available that are worth playing. I'm hoping they haven't gone down the 6/5 road.

I'm planning a trip to Margaritaville.

There are still double decks there but they're roughly center cut. Not worth a play.

I don't dispute the 50% pen is bad...but "not worth a play". Just curious, given that the other option would be to play a 6D with 75% or so. Doesn't even the DD cut 50% offer a better game?

If I'm looking at my numbers right, 6D DAS RSA 10min with 1-16 spread is .942 EV with a SCORE of 20.02. DD with 1-8 spread has .867EV and 1-10 spread has a better .991EV and SCORE of 31.27. Both with lower max bets.

Nothing to knock your socks off, but I gather OP is talking about a trip/recreational play and it would seem the DD is still a better choice, no?

I would play that DD game heads up or with no more than one other hand.

From what I've studied about Shreveport, casinos there typically react much more rudely compared to most places.

The MIT Blackjack Team were kicked out of their hotel room and compelled to leave quickly.

KC of Inside The Edge had one Shreveport Casino: Sam's Town, refuse to cash out KC's chips until KC got gaming control involved.

KC testified on Gambling with an Edge that Amelia Belle falsely backroomed him cuz they overreacted to a Griffin report.

At Treasure Chest Casino, KC refused to show ID and the casino illegally got his information by getting police involved (you have to show ID to police but NOT casino security).
