El Fin(the end)
There were good times. There were bad times. Most of the time we discussed how to get the edge. Some were angered over the photo and the media hype. Some disagreed with the fight for a gamblers right to play unharrased, the right to personal financial privacy, and basically the right to play skillfully.
Through out it all the site grew and became the place to be. The charlatans came and were driven away. There was a balance of open intellectual discussion but there was a need for editorial censorship. At least the mayor explained why posts were busted or why he edited the contents of post rule violations and threats of physical violence. He allowed for great discussions. In all Card Counter.Com was the place to be and it was free.
The birth of this site gave hope to begginers and encouragement to pros. Vegas is growing but the edge in blackjack is getting smaller. The web sites are more commercial and hype abounds. The free pages that are left are either small or under dictatorship.
Some may disagree but Eliot Jacobson was a PROFESSIONAL. He was an intellectual and most of all he shared his knowledge and pushed others to share thiers. He was a strict Black Jack tactician. No voodoo in Eliots bag of tricks. If this sounds like an obituary well it is CC.COM is gone and even if it is picked up it will never be the same. Thanks Eliot.
