How much EV are you willing to forgo?
Elhombre,
You need to be more specific about your goals: how much of an increase in the BS house edge are you willing to accept to decrease the Standard Deviation by, say, 10%?
I ran a CVData Multitracking sim for three B.S. players flat-betting black chips on a 6D, S17, DA2, DAS, RSA game (I guessed several of these rules). Player 1 uses normal B.S.; Player 2 uses B.S. but NEVER SPLITS; Player 3 uses B.S. but NEITHER SPLITS NOT DOUBLES DOWN.
Here are the Summary results:
BS Changes to Reduce SD

SummaryHere a summary by seat or player is displayed. Hands skipped indicates hands not played due to "Wonging." Action is Total $ bet per hour and Win Rate is $ won per hour. IBA is advantage related to the Initial Bet (before double downs.) Std. Devs. are always by player and DI is Desirability Index as defined by BJ Attack. | Hands | $/Hour | Units

Here, you can see that forgoing splits reduces the S.D. from 1.15 to 1.12 (so 2.6%) but at a cost of more than tripling the house edge from 0.313% to 0.998%. Passing on all splits and double downs will decrease the S.D. to 0.98 (almost 15%), but will simultaneously increase the house edge to more than 2%: OUCH!
If you would be a bit more explicit about your goals, I (or others) could refine these results to meet your needs.
Hope this helps!
Dog Hand
sacrifice parts of splits and doubles
Many thanks Dog Hand this helps much. The rules you guessed are OK.
I thought that forgoing splits and doubles reduces
the S.D. much more.
I think I would forget only a part of splits
and doubles, so that the house edge increases to about 0.7- 0.8%
I would appreciate much if you would run a sim of the most important parts of splits and doubles that come to the 0.7- o.8% house edge.
Thanks in advance Eh.
