Answer...
SCAA71,
Several times you've asked for EV gains for "rider" bets, and several times I've given numbers. Most of the time I've also provided a link to the POM from March 2013 that shows the EV gains, as well as the "ORBS", or Optimal Rider Bet Strategy.
If you want further answers, I'd suggest you follow the link shown below. It describes the precise method by which the numbers are calculated, and gives numbers for various ratios of back bet to front bet, differing numbers of decks, and several sets of house rules. Note, though, that no "simple formula" exists to answer your question: instead, you need to calculate the gain in EV for each potential "unequal split" (the gain depends on the back bet to front bet ratio R, as well as the EV's for the individual split in question), and then sum the product of the gain times the probability of being dealt that particular hand. Again, the details are shown in the link below, along with the calculated results for over 100 cases.
I can tell you, though, that in none of the cases shown does the ORBS overcome the inherent house edge.
If you don't have "Green Chip" access, you can find a link to "Green Chip Membership" on the left side of the page: I believe you can gain access for a month for less than $12.
If after you read the post you still have questions, feel free to post them (On the Green Chip Main Page) and I'll do my best to answer them there.
Hope this helps!
