Renzy's key card count?

Renzy's key card count. Does anyone know if this simple count will give a slight edge (counting 4 & 5 +1, 10's (no pics) & Black aces -1, edge gained above 20. starting count at 18)?

As a doboutful counter erring towards prog. play, how would these 2 fair together, Renzy's + prog play. Using the count to decide bet size risk?

As a casual player who has read many articles about counting (long term investment) V Prog. play (Ur gonna loose), could this be a happy medium ??????

are for newcomers to counting to get a feel for counting down the deck. The edge that can be gained in long term play is so slight that you would need a very large bankroll to win a fraction of a small bet per 100 hands.

So, you gain much of an edge, but(?) you get even(??).

What would you suggest as the next step up (???) without all out the typical HiLo counting. Remeber casual player, but still would like to win occasionally, without keeping my brain in overdrive.

This is an easy system to use - no true count conversion, no indices to memorize, no complex bet ramping, yet it will give you a definite edge over the house, especially if you pick your games carefully.

Then, when and if you're ready, you can move up to the KO Preferred system, which still requires no true count conversion and will give you an advantage comparable to other level one systems such as Hi-Lo.

He's the most dedicated card counter I've ever known, and a hellava poker player as well!

He wrote an article for RGT a while back disclaiming the concept.

I don't have it, but I took a long look at it over at Gambler's Book Club, and it seemed good to me.

His Ace/Ten Front count is good for a casual player in doubledeck.

He is associated with Scoblete's stable. As a meat and potatoes count guy he is kind of out of place lumped in with me, Thomason and Scoblete, all associated with various forms of maverick lunacy. He'd be better off with RGE or someone.

I agree its a very good book. Its also worth mentioning he did the pioneering study on Spanish 21.

I just learned to count in Feb. of this year, using a system I saw on the Learning Channel's Sunday night Vegas series. The system was KO, by some nerdy guy named Olaf who was building Yahtzee slot machines. Well, I bought his book, and now I'm CONVINCED that a beginner can NOT do any better than learning KO. It is so VERY easy, and it works. Within a week of practice you will be beyond the KO Rookie. Just don't make the same mistake I made--thinking I was ready for $15 min. games with a bankroll of a few hundred dollars! OUCH!!!!! Start slow and small, and watch your bankroll grow by small bits. Be happy with those $50-win sessions. I went from $700 up to $1200 DOWN in a month cuz I was stupid. I'm now back to $300 up, with a good lesson learned!!! Also won 1st place in my 3rd tourney ever, using KO. (Had to hit a 16vs10 to get to the semi-finals. Got the 5, and advanced by a $25 victory. FOLLOW THE CHARTS!!) As Parker said, KO requires no TC conversions--no division or fractions--just addition or subtraction by 1. A 3rd grader can do this system. You can get he Rookie system for FREE from their website. But, get the book anyways.
