Does anyone know how many copies of Steve Forte's Read the Dealer were printed, or its (approximate) current value? I read a 2004 post here that mentioned a copy going for $250, but additional information would be helpful.

I don't know how many copies were printed. Can't locate a copy for sale in the internet, It was published in 1986 by RGE, but it looks like it was assembled at the Office Depot Copy Center.
The book should be called "Manipulating the Dealer" because that is what it says to do to elicit readable dealer tells.
Chapter 4 of Wong's "Winning Without Counting","Playing the Tells", or in formal language,"kinesics", is a good place to start.You will also find more or less the same information in Wong's "Basic Blackjack" Chapter 16.
Tells in blackjack are just as difficult to read as those in poker, but they do exist with some dealers. I prefer to manipulate my dealers in other ways.

You have one, I have one, Clark County Library has four and UNLV Library has one. The others are unaccounted for. Original cost as I recall was about $50.
As an aside, was there ever an adjudication on Forte's Atlantic City poker scam?

I have a copy of Read the Dealer. Back when dealers checked their hole card manually, I used the �tells� from this book without ever manipulating the dealers as you suggest.
One time I was playing at the Aladdin (When Bill Zender ran the place) with a friendly dealer that I could read like a book. After 45 minutes, I was up a large amount and the dealer went on break. When he returned, he wasn�t friendly at all and I couldn�t read him either (no reverse tells). I guess he was reprimanded during his break for being so easy to read.
