LV Hilton--not so quick to dismiss DD game
You might play the DD game at the Hilton anyway. The rules are $25 minumum, H17, DAS, and Late Surrender, thus house edge is around .4% off the top. But they use a shuffle card, so you can get a good idea of the penetration before you sit down. I recall the double deck game was dealt to less than a deck.
Also, the tables are almost empty there in the mornings from 4am to 11am, thus you can get into a game easily, and around breakfast time you will have a heads up game probably, even at a $5 deck game, and certainly at the DD game. Later in the day it is a different story, as the $5 table morph to $10 and the DD $25 game gets crowded. Penetration does vary by dealer there, at least in the 6 deck games I was watching, where I have seen from 2decks cut off all the way to one deck by a new dealer that had trouble with shuffling (his table was crowded).
Anyway, per Chapter 10 of D. Schlessinger's book Blackjack Attack, you can beat that double deck game under those conditions. But as noted in other posts, there are better conditions around Vegas, and now that the monorail is about to open up, you can move easily to casinos with better game on the strip (MGM Grand would be a good place).
