progression

can anyone tell me if progression works. If using tko the count gets to say 8 or higher and you lose your frist bet .the count stays the same or even gets higher? To double your bet seem to me reasonable. I mean if counting truely does work why wouldn't it be used like this?

...always bet in proportion to your advantage. Betting the way you propose drastically increases RoR and variance. Essentially, it's nothing more than gambling as opposed (and I mean DIAMETRICALLY opposed) to "advantage play."

Progression betting is useful only as cover. OldCootFromVA's post says it all. You don't want to use a real progession - you wanna be betting your advantage and make your betting appear to be progression-based.

But

- Cover is overrated as it is, already.
- In the dumb joints, you have to let them know what you're doing, i.e. betting a progression, because they're too dumb to see anything but ups & downs.
- In the smarter joints, it takes more than that to fool them.
