Pressing your bet in positve counts

Good Evening. I am using KO and Wonging in at plus 2 or better and Wonging out at plus 1 or worse, so I am not making any bets in negative ev. Maybe this is a bad way to do it but if the count is say plus 2 and I bet 1 unit and lose, I will bet two units the next time if the count remains at least the same or better. I will do this again, 4 units, if the count remains plus two or better. Four being the top limit bet. This is on single deck. So far I have had good success. It seems to have a better result than 1 unit at plus 2, and 2 units at plus 3, and 4 units at plus 4.

You are wonging a single deck game? This could bring you some unwanted attention. In addition, when there is heat, it is often difficult to bet in accordance with your advantage. However, if for whatever reason heat is not a concern, you should bet with regards to your advantage as Franz has already pointed out.

I am also just starting out. I guess I had a fairly good understanding of some of the basic concepts before I got started because I never really fell for the betting progression trap (a friend and I had already figured it out on paper and had come to the conclusion that it was not worth the potential loss risk) anyway I've listed a page below that has a more conservative betting strategy. My thoughts are that a more CONSERVATIVE betting strategy while it may take a bit longer on occasion, reduces the risk of ruin because the swings in your bankroll aren't as big. I am having difficulty finding good info. (I have more books on order... but I'm in Canada, and they're taking forever to get here) But I have been setting a 10 unit win goal and walking away for that session. The first unit is once you've reached +1. Also, a method of cover I read somewhere suggested starting your opening bet at 1 unit. This goes against the usual suggestions but if you're being observed, the security will likely think that you are a novice because you don't bet right and allow you to continue playing. I think that if you are only playing that first hand at 1 unit and then pushing down if the count remains at 0 then you are not risking too much considering that the opening hand is only played a portion of the time (does that make sense?) anyway... you will attract less attention and you be able to get a better bet spread without attracting attention... if you want to keep playing I wouldn't suggest wonging in and out of games as much... especially because the other players at the table will HATE YOU and blame their losses on you (but not their wins of course!) The problem with wonging in and out of the same table is that to keep the count... you have to stay at the table... if you go to the restroom and come back... the count may have turned worse... if you're wonging, either go to another table, or wait out the shuffle, perhaps by throwing a few coins in a nearby slot (be sure the pitboss sees you! otherwise don't waste your money) or go to the restroom...blah blah blah...
