Ploppie corrects dealer error that was favorable to me

At a $50 minimum Vegas strip game, a young man, probably in his mid 20's, was sitting to my immediate left. After a couple of hits, my hand totaled 22, but the dealer must have counted 21 or less, and turned to the next player. The young man made no signal other than pointing to my hand. As the dealer waited for him to signal, he pointed to my hand a second time. Then the dealer looked at my hand, said "Oh," and took my cards and bet. I debated with myself whether to say something. When the hand ended, I lightly touched the young man on his right arm to get his attention, and said very softly "You didn't have to point that out." After about a half minute of silence, the young man looked me in the eye and quietly said "Sorry." He seemed humbled, so I expect he will reflect on that and not do it again.

This week I had a new counter (learner) correct the dealer on a payoff to me. I looked at him and said I could take care of it myself!

I stayed on my 15 and the dealer hit his 4-up card to 17. Dealer paid my $75 bet as she was paying those at the table who had 18+.

Talk about a tight sphincter as I scooped up the chips, just hoping that no idiot would say a word.

How is losing $50 favorable? I would have told the snitch that he was an A-hole. Sorry Idiots like that piss me off. I was at a table at the shoe and the dealer had a visual problem or something similar. He paid two of my pushes. The other players knew what was happening but they kept quiet about it and even started a conversation with the dealer to keep him busy. I find it is good to make friends with other players and try to get on the same level with the ploppies or counters while at the same time keeping a good relationship with the dealer. So far I have been lucky.

I've decided to wait,sometimes they catch it as they pick up the cards.I figure it's best this way.Kind of not catching me in action.The white people are the worst in these situations,but usually the younger males won't say anything.Last week the dealer paid me by mistake and a 24 year old girl pointed out the error to her.I didn't take the chips and the dealer said,"that's why he didn't take the chips."They will be more leary of your tactics if they catch you.I usually pretend to be dissinterested.Later on the dealer stayed on 12,counting the ace as 11,paying the whole table and this time the girl had nothing to say as she collected some moola.Willi.

I try to make conversation at a table and get the general attitude at the table to be "All of us against all of them". When I do that and a dealer error occurs, everyone keeps there mouth shut.

As a side note it's also fun to goto a breakin joint and encourage errors. (That's only 16, hit it again!)

It is best to wait until the dealer picks up all the cards before touching your winning chips. You should be distracted and look away the instant the dealer starts to mispay you. After the cards are picked up, turn back around and take your winnings. It looks like you were not paying attention, and didn't know if you had won or lost the hand, you were depending on the dealer to make that determination.

Wouldn't want to post my list of "32 Things To Do To Induce Dealer Errors". But if you keep your eyes open and notice when the dealer makes mistakes with other players and then ask yourself, "Why did they make that mistake?", you can start figuring out what you need to do or what to look for to get it to start happening in your favor.
