Does anyone know what happens when you give your drivers license to a pit boss to issue you a Players Card? Do they seek any kind of info about you, or check your name against any lists, etc? Is it a bad idea to get one? I agreed to get a players card last week on the strip, and gave them my license. Now I'm a little worried. Any reply would be appreciated.
Unless you are a AP and plan on trying to extract large sums of money from them,I wouldnt worry about it.I dont give the casino any information about myself.I dont really care about the comps and things like that,I just want a good game with good rules.I comp myself with a good game and smart play.Just my 2 cents.
many now scan your license into their computer (make a copy of the front), and print you a players card. They don't check anything.
Turn the card in when you break even or have a losing session. Just "remember" you have one when you're ready to leave. Casinos usually have a trigger number where they start to watch you after your wins have reached a certain level. 25K is the number at one casino where a friend of mine worked. I never had a problem not turning a players card in. If pressed I either told them I get audited every year or am in the middle of a nasty divorce and don't need a paper trail. If they still won't leave you alone tell them at your Gambler's Anonymous meetings they told you gamblers with players cards tend to lose 30% more money chasing comps. Any mention of GA in front of other players sends them scurrying. In today's climate I think casinos are happy not to comp players. Be creative in your excuses.
