Rules are not bad, House Edge is reasonable. Penetration is ok.

I've seen worse for sure. Pits might not tolerate your action for 5 days, but I would think a drive-thru is fine.

Tables are mostly crowded at the Philly casinos, from what I saw. But a decent amt of action in play, so green/black doesn't look out of place.

They are hostile to counters. You might get by for one day with polite spreads. But talking with other APs, the consensus is that Parx is a venue one should want to avoid. The final decision of course, is yours.

Blast away for one big shoe on each shift. It will take you one or two days to hit the four or five casinos in Philly (easy to navigate between Parx, Sugarhouse, and Harrah's Cnester. Valley Forge is way out of the way and a bitch to get to, Sand's is about 45 minutes north of Parx in Bethlehem. I would expect to get more than 2-3 days of play in PHilly before you have to move on up the road, but it's definitely worth the visit.

Must have been a top-notch movie.

Pen was not very good. Consistently dictated by notch on shoe, about 2.5 decks. Rules were good: surrender and S17. Spread 1-9 and wonged out. Didn't feel or see any heat. Won over 50 units in 6 hours. Wouldn't rush back but wouldn't avoid it either.

While there on other business I went to about 6 casinos over a week and the games were garbage. Horrible penetration. During the entire week I saw one cut I'd play after multiple visits to each place over all the shifts...and the table was full. "Oh...you can still beat such and such pen", "but the rules are good", blah blah blah. The games sucked and you don't play as good as a computer sim can on top of it. If someone put a gun to my head and said, "Play the current games in Pennsylvania or else..." I'd say "Pull the trigger." I was actually going to start playing again out of boredom but I wrote that off after what I saw."

I haven't played PA in more than a year and have fried in many places in Philly, but when I played there the pen was as good as 1 deck cutoff and never worse than 1.75 decks cutoff and mostly 1.5 decks. The latest report in CBJN mostly says 1.5 decks cutoff from the six deck shoes and 1.8 cutoff from the eight deck shoes. With late surrender and s17 those are both playable.
