Advantage in this scenario is 12.8% over splitting. Dealer can't bluff; Joe has his back. I turn to my mule for comfort, saving the soda can for Wednseday.

You may catch the right cards and end up with 4 hands, double down on each for 8x your original bet against the dealer's 5. This way you lose 8x as much when the dealer pulls a 5 card 21, and you are able to go home that much sooner.

The decicion to do either opens the door to DOUBLE losses or worse
in the case of re-splits. The chance of this was ZERO.

The split takes on the odds of drawing further consecutive good cards.
3-1, for two hands, 7-1, for three and 15-l for the max.

Yes there are a few that always seem to get the right card(count they claim) others get trash count or no count.

Many years ago I became aware that my DD or split was running 3-1
against me. Initial changes stopped some of that-and now a lot more.

The BS doesn't show you any of this, and I don't think any body told the computers that losing two bets or more on the same hand was groosley undesirible.
