Here's a fun thing that happened to me back in June. It could only happen in Vegas I suspect. :)
I was sitting at a 6d shoe game, sat down on the shuffle. This table was right near where the Dodge Viper was on display in the Grand, in June, for those that might remember. The table had 4 players including me, and the first hand saw a ridiculous number of small cards come out. Everyone had 4-5-6 card hands including the dealer. By the end of the third hand, the running count was over 60. I had started at $10, won and parlayed the bet to $20, lost, went to 40, and by the time the fourth hand was played I was betting $120. The dealer pulled cards and passed them out until he came to me, he slid my first card out of the shoe, but froze and didn't turn it over.
Lots of things went through my mind, first and foremost was "Way to go, Robert, fixing to get kicked out after exactly 4 hands..." But the dealer didn't turn around to the pit to say anything about my bet, he just stared and I realized it was over my shoulder. I asked "what's up?" He just pointed moving only _one_ finger.
I turned around and there was a 20 year old _beautiful_ female, wearing an outfit made out of some transparent (and I do not mean barely see-through I mean _transparent_) gauze-like material. Absolutely nothing on underneath. As she slowly walked down the aisle, it reminded me of those old E.F. Hutton commercials, the tables on either side got deathly quiet, and stayed quiet until she was out of sight.
Bottom line was it was not my bet that caused the pause. :)
Dealer turned around to the pit, which was _also_ staring, and said "new cards. These are now too sticky." Just kidding of course, but certainly made me feel better. I didn't get barred or anything.
One side note. I noticed _no_ males made an attempt to stand up, they all stayed glued to their stools. :)
I also noticed the females. One at our table had a _lot_ to say about both the female's dress code, and our staring, after the show was over. :)
She kept on and on, finally I suggested that she leave and go somewhere else. She said "why don't you leave?" I said "I don't think I'd better do that right now." Got a big laugh from the pit.
Profitable night there on that shoe. No heat although it wasn't obvious I was spreading as I stayed at $100 until 2/3 of the way through where we all got a batch of good hands and squashed the count back down. Dealer asked "going for another peek?" as I left the table. :)
I think that ran the complainer off however. so some good came from it. :)
