Online single deck

Normally I only play poker online, but I do know how to play BJ and count cards so I was intrigued when I saw an online casino advertise that they now had single deck blackjack. I thought that online blackjack games were shuffled after every hand, so the number of decks was of no consequence. Am I wrong? Is it possible to count these online single deck games?

Intercasino is advertising their new single deck game while MicroGaming sites using the older software still have a single deck game. I believe single deck is also available at some BossMedia sites. However, all these games shuffle after ever hand. Using a few composition dependent strategy changes will get you awefully close to an even game.
But... There are multi-deck games available that you can count cards at. Last I heard, the normal game at Intercasino and at Global-Player deal into the shoe. Very poor penetration of 1/3 or less though. However, you can Wong out to your hearts content.

Even without counting, there are several differences between 6d and 1d. For instance, blackjacks are less common on 1d, while splits are more common on 6d.

The Stanley Acropolis chain also deal 2 of 6. That is a lousy game. The last time I played there global player dealt 50% out of two decks , which was really quite good given the advantages of playing online,but I think thats been discontinued of late.
A thought: its quite possible to play two computers at once. Counting two games isn't that difficult when you are wonging out all the time and the penetration is shallow. That would bring your win rate up to scratch.

Would like to see you hit the real tables once in a while. Is it true you gave up casino blackjack?

I'll go and play blackjack in a real casino anytime the conditions make it desireable to do so. For example, I would have been interested in flying over for the 2-1 Biloxi promo in the States recently. I keep my hand in five or six different forms of advantage play whose profitability fluctuates wildly and concentrate on whatever makes most money. Counting cards in a regular casino just doesn't cut it, it would make no sense on any level except sentimentality. I know you are quite passionate about this Rocky, but even a cursory examination of the math points this out very clearly, and I can't just ignore it.

Having said all that, as some of the online opportunities deteriorate I'm interested in pursuing some of the sequencing theories I've been developing, and in trying out some of Ted Forrester's brilliant boundary segments concept, so yes I'm probably going to be playing quite intensively in the real world for the next six months.

John I can tell you if you have a burning desire to be a winner and use your casino skills,counting cards is worth your time if you find decent games and play smart. Saying it dont "Cut it" is a harsh word. The Count is the main object, using sequencing is only a side kick to card counting. I would respect the count if I were you,good luck.

Actually the probability of BJ is higher in a single deck than in a six decker. Shark
